Banibrata is a Civil Engineer and an Environmental Planner. His areas of expertise include preparation of master plans, assessment of climate change vulnerability and adaptation, design of water supply and irrigation systems etc. Within this project, he has been involved in preparation of the Urban River Management Plan for Kanpur city. Prior to joining NIUA, Banibrata worked with the Environment Protection Training and Research Institute Hyderabad where he was involved in preparation of the State Specific Action Plan for water sector for Nagaland and Mizoram, and revision of the State Action Plan for Climate Change for Telangana. There he was also involved in conducting capacity building programmes on climate change and sustainable development related issues (for Government department officials and international participants from ITEC partner countries). Banibrata has a Masters degree in Environmental Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada and a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal. Apart from work, he is fond of music and also loves to play cricket.
