The Sanitation Capacity Building Platform (SCBP), NIUA The Sanitation Capacity Building Platform (SCBP) anchored by NIUA aims at building capacities of States/ULBs for planning, designing and implementing non-sewered decentralised sanitation solutions with specific focus on Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) and Wastewater. The platform lends support to MoHUA and states to move beyond ODF status by addressing safe disposal and treatment of septage and faecal sludge. The core thematic focus of platform is developing training content and modules and technical assistance in planning and implementation of decentralised sanitation solutions at state and city level.
The Platform (SCBP) has worked with the states of UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. It has supported nodal national AMRUT training institutes and worked closely with academia to build capacity of town and city officials, para state agencies – for a paradigm shift towards decentralised and non-networked sanitation solutions foR India. The Platform is supporting the Waste Water capacity building initiative of NMCG.
